Updates:

My latest tutorial was a request and a very fun tutorial to do for me.  I always loved the effect of black and white infrared photography, and for that matter black and white photography so when I was asked to try and recreate the infrared effect I jumped right on it.  You can see that tutorial here.

Here's a quick and easy effect to add to your photograph to give it the look it was painted on wood.  Playing with the contrast can give quite a few different pleasing effects.  You may want yours to look more weathered than mine by increasing the brightness a little.  If you want to follow along click on the thumbnails below to go to the larger size images and copy and paste them into PhotoFiltre. 1)  Open up the 2 images in PhotoFiltre.  Select the Wood Texture Image:

      Menu = Image / Duplicate

2)   Select the Wood Texture Duplicate:

      Menu = Adjust / Negative

      Menu = Color / Grayscale

      Menu = Edit / Copy

After you Copy the Duplicated image with the Negative and Grayscale Effects you can delete it if you want.

5)  Select your original Wood Texture Image:

     Menu = Edit / Paste Special / Image With Linked Mask

Your Image should look like mine to the right.

6)  Menu = Adjust / Brightness and Contrast.  Now adjust the Brightness and Contrast until you have a color balance you like.  I'm adjusting the Contrast to 20.
