| Here is a good looking orb to use in your interface or web pages. This is one of those things were it is easier to work
on a larger scale and then shrink it down after you are done. The one to the right is resized from this tutorial. By the
way don't get nervous. This tutorial may look long but really isn't I just tried to be very detailed in order to show folks
the new buttons and tools available is PhotoFiltre Studio.
I swear I made this button in less than 2 minutes. |
| |
1) Create a new image 400 x 400 pixels with a gray background. 2) Menu = Layer / New / Blank
3) Menu = Layer / New / Blank
You should now have 3 layers in your layer palette.
4) Select Layer 2 in the Layers Palette, choose your selection Tool (Shown Left) and then choose the Elipse
Tool (Shown Right) and draw a 300 x 300 circle. *Hint: Holding the Shift Key while drawing the circle will give you a
perfect circle.
5) Menu = Selection / Center / Image Center
6) Choose the Invert Selection Button (Shown Left) 7) Menu = Edit / Clear (Or just hit the Delete
Key)
8) Select Layer 1 in the Layers Palette
9) Menu = Edit / Clear
Now before we go any further I must explain why I created my circles this way. I have had bad results when I copy and paste circle
shapes in PhotoFiltre Studio. There are times when certain edges or sides get a little squared off. I also run into this problem
from time to time when I duplicate a layer shape and then use Selection / Select Layer. Not a lot but enough that I find it annoying so
rather than risk it I just do it this way. |
10) Select your Invert Layer Button again (Shown Left). Our Circle on Layer 1 Should be active now. 11)
Menu = Filter / Color / Gradient
Style = Duotone
Direction = Top to bottom
Color 1 = RGB 0,0,128
Opacity = 100%
Color 2 = RGB 153,204,255
Opacity = 100%
You should now see your gradient in the layers palette
| |
