The above wire frame text effect is real easy to do with PhotoFiltre Studio and gives me a chance to show you
a different way of adding a drop shadow to your text. |
|
 |
| |
1) Open up a new image:
Dimensions = 800 x 600 Pixels
Background Color = White
2) Select the Text Tool, Type in PhotoFiltre:
Font = Comics Sans
Size = 100
Bold = Checked
Color = White
Now hit the OK Button. Your Image should look like mine above.
That is right. I did not mess up or forget to post the image. Your image should be plain old white like mine above. |
|
 |

Layers Palette |
Select Layer 1 (Your Text Layer) in the Layers Palette. 3) Menu = Layer / Convert text to image layer
4) Menu = Selection / Select Layer
You should have a selection like mine above. |
|
 |
| |
5) Menu = Edit / Stroke and Fill Stroke = Checked
Color = Black
Width = 5
Antialiase = Checked |
|
 |

Show / Hide Selection |
6) Click on the Show / Hide Selection Button (Shown to the Left) 7) Click on
the Selection Tool (Shown Top Right)
8) Click on the Magic Wand Tool (Shown Bottom Right)
With the magic wand tool selected use the following settings:
Tolerance =50
Color = Checked
Now just click inside the Black area of the P like I am in the image above. You will have a selection like the image below. |

With your Text Layer Still Selected in the Layers Palette 9) Menu = Selection / Invert
10) Menu = Edit / Clear
11) Menu = Selection / Invert |
|
 |

Layers Palette |
12) Select the Background Layer in the Layers Palette (Left) 13) Menu = Filter / Stylize / Drop
Shadow
Color = Black
Opacity = 70
X = 5
Y = 5
Style = Antialiased
14) Click on the Show / Hide Selection Button (Right)
15) With the Background Layer still selected,
Menu = Filter / Visual Effect / Gaussian Blur
Radius = 2
I chose this method for a drop shadow instead of the layers method because the blur softens the shadow and gives it a more pleasing look
for my taste. |
